Kevin,

Why did you have to pay a duty? How did they estimate the value...I think I shipped all them as 'gift' and without any invoice inside specifically to avoid this from happening.

Hi Marc

They would not release the boards unless I provided proof of cost - the paypal statement.

Just because it was shipped as gift doesn't mean the customs will not open it. Customs in Kiel seem quite keen compared to other areas of Germany, never had any problems while staying in Tübingen. When I got to the customs house the packet had already been opened so someone had inspected it.

I don't know exactly how they worked out the customs costs. I thought it was just 19% of the value once it is converted to Euros. I know they add something called import duty on items they class as luxury items, but still.... I didn't question it at the time I was just happy the boards had arrived and payed up.

This has happened to me before, especially when I have ordered from Small Bear, or Turret Boards. Customs was really bad when I was living in Basel (Switzerland) everything was checked and paypal statements or credit card bills provided otherwise it was not released. I am awaiting to see how the customs are in Slovenia, where I will be moving to in about a month or so.

regards

Kevin

Is it possible to put two aquapuss' in a single enclosure, running one into the other and having them both use the same 9v supply? Y'know, to get those doubled-up repeats a la U2.

I do multiple pedals in one box all the time from one 9V supply. The only place you might run into trouble is a real low current power supply, but I havent seen that yet.

So I basically just tap my 9v+ ac jack with two wires, each going to their respective boards?

Thanks for the advice AND the helpful image!

PM me your Paypal name and I will look it up. There is a UK member that PM'd me a couple of days ago as well about not receiving their board.

Then again, I bought a couple of AC188's from Bulgaria a month ago and they still aren't here...

I just got my board in the mail, thank you very much.

It appears the Aquaboy page is down or missing? Can someone point me to the parts list and layout.

Not down or missing. Brian launched a new, improved site!

Thanks, I had bookmarked the old site.

I'm assuming any 570 would work for the compander? I have a few older chips. Looks like they used the new Coolaudio version of the chip in the picture in the PDF.

can I also assume the Coolaudio version the of 3205/3102 these are a lot cheaper than the MN version of the chip.

On closer inspection the parts list shows both parts listed. With a critical change of R19 in the case of the CoolAudio BBD.

So I figured out that the Cool Audio buy is a source for the v571, the v3205 and the v3102. Is there a Cool Audio equivalent for the LF3535N?

For the record, I know it is lazy to just blurt out a question instead of looking up the data sheets. I am multi-tasking at the office, and I doubt I am the only one that is curious.

Be gentle.

I don't think so.

As I understand it Cool Audio is part or Behringer, which produces chips that are used in their products.

If I am wrong maybe someone can enlighten us all.

Cheers

The 3205 is distorted? ANy ideas?

Can you take a voltage reading on the 3205? What do you get for the Vdd rail? It should be 8v or under.

In my (honestly not so long) experience 3205's are cleaner if fed with 6,2-7,5V. Check datasheets for further reference.

P.S.: madbean, from your site I can see we've a favorite band in common! :D
