At 99 EUR seems a steal -- saw it described as fuzz and then again as
The cranked 5E3 tweed tone in spades. LED status, True bypass, Master level, Gain saturation knob. All shades of gain controlled with guitar vol. knob. No power jack.
I ordered my Woodrow with the request of a DC tap so I could put it on my pedal board with the rest of the arsenal. Sean mentioned he doesn't normally make them that way but would do it for me. I see that quite a few of his pedals are made to be alkaline driven only - maybe for a specific reason. Well my Woodrow still sounds incredible as long as it's battery powered. But when I went to put it on my board and plugged a DC tap from my Pedal Power into it, the Woodrow just thinned out and became fizzy. The tone was gone. I was completely dissapointed. So, there are ways to get around it, and for the tone that pedal is capable of getting I'll have to adjust my sonic lifestyle. Something to consider if you were thinking of buying. from Harmony Central
Website http://www.lovepedal.com/ is stacked with amp emulators (been at the forum probably ) but don't find this Woodrow box, although the clips linked to from the home page.
What the story behind Lovepedal anyway? Didn't that close down? Is the name resold?

it too bias to crackle for more vintage mojo crackle, not just plain crackle. Got to be a connoisseur of crackle to appreaciate this
The Woodrow was one of his earliest pedals called a Woody. I think he was compelled to stop using the "Woody" name by Seymour Duncan, who have a pickup called that.
The soundclip for the Woodrow is still the original Woody clip.
I think it's a variation on the COT circuit, like a lot of the Lovepedals.

Watch out, runoffgroove!
I must admit that it sounds pretty good with a tweed style amp, except it cuts too much low end. You need the loose flabby lows to get the authentic 5e3 tone. Doesn't sound so great with other amps.
Of course why would you buy a 5e3 sounding pedal if you already have a tweed amp?

change the I cap to .1 nix the 47uf / 330 pair for a 1 K resistor..
big lows..
AGAIN my normal statment.. as a PLAYER I personally dig in way too hard so I purposlly have to trim bass on all my units..
Several Lovepedals were offered at "tone for 50 bones" in the early days. The Woodrow is a current offering with a $119 price tag. The Balance and COT which are very similar in design are usually offered closer to $200.
Not much. The COT has a larger input cap. Also the volume is adjusted (biased) off of the Emitter, rather than a gain then attenuate setup like this one.

Enjoy.

In the COT thread the schematic shows a .047 input cap on the COT also, are you saying this should be higher for the COT50?
