my guess is a Son of Screamer type circuit.

It looks curiously like Clark Gainster parts selection.
"If anyone is a 'genius' for putting jacks in such a pedal in the only spot where they could physically fit, then I assume I too am a genius for correctly inserting my legs into my pants this morning." - candletears7 - TGP

8 resistors, 6 capacitors (they've even used the big Russian paper in oil), opamp, diodes hidden with heat shrink.

is that piece of metal on the switch of the gainster a battery clip? if so, it's an interesting way to do it.
