I saw this, doesn't look complicated, but I can't find much info on it in my search of Le Google.

my guess is a Son of Screamer type circuit.

8 resistors, 6 capacitors (they've even used the big Russian paper in oil), opamp, diodes hidden with heat shrink.

is that piece of metal on the switch of the gainster a battery clip? if so, it's an interesting way to do it.
