Mike,
I've got 15 ICL7660 - they do not have the "s" suffix if it matters. If they'll work for you - let me know.

The ordinary 7660 has a bit of a problem in some circuit - the clock frequency of the chip is low enough that it can mix with other signals in your circuit and cause heterodynes which you will hear as whistles in the audio. Not pleasant (they're never concordant!). The 7660S has the option of a much higher clock frequency (which is easier to filter off the supply rails) and doesn't cause your pedals to whistle along (out of tune) with the music!danielzink wrote:Mike,

"Why is it humming?" "Because it doesn't know the words!"

Yes. That's why I mentioned that they didn't have the s designation.mictester wrote:The ordinary 7660 has a bit of a problem in some circuit - the clock frequency of the chip is low enough that it can mix with other signals in your circuit and cause heterodynes which you will hear as whistles in the audio.
