Is the 1n60p diode germanium or silicon? I have seen it listed as both silicon-schottky and germanium. Could someone please provide some clarity here?

I think you can make a diode meeting the 1n60p specification out of either; certaintly there are both Ge and Si 1n60p diodes.

It's pretty obvious once you see a photo though. Ge diodes are relatively huge.

Do all germanium diodes have the bent wire connection inside them?

I bought some 1N60 diodes that were listed as Germanium, but what I got were 1N60P which are probably silicon schottky (forward voltage drop approx. 0.22V)

They look similar to these:
