Hi, this is my first post. I've only built one pedal so far, so I'm still new to this.
I was on my way to my physics class today and one of the professors was getting rid of a bunch of germanium transistors. He said they've never been used, and he's not sure if they work, but they're still in sealed packages. He just gave them to me. I've got 18 of them.
My question is what exactly they would be good for, if anything. They're NPN General Electric GE8's. Does anyone know anything about these?

Build the RG keen leakage tester and then stick them in a multimeter to test the HfE!
Testing, testing, won too fwee

Once you have the HfE measured you will know what types of circuits you can build around them... which is why the two posters above me suggested you measure it first. They're right!
Resistance is futile...
