I was in need of some kind of clipping testing ground, so I've made one. Not sure the DIP switch spacing, I hope it's fine.

BTW, I've made quite a few tagboard layout's but this is my first PCB. Be easy on my Mr.Dirk ;)

Nice one Pawel. I got a few of those DIP switches in a variety of poles from one of the Chinese eBay seller, and made myself up something similar on perf. Well worth having as a quick tester.

Thank you buddy. Can you measure the distance between the joints of DIP for me? I have no any, so I'm unsure about an accuracy of this layout

The pins are 2.5mm apart and top to bottom is 7.5mm (ish) so it will fit in standard vero or perf over 3 rows, 1 column per pole.

Cool idea, sort of reminds me of the Bixonic Expandora.... :)

Another way to do this would be to use a multi-position rotary switch to switch in the different types of clipping.... :)

Yep, I was thinking to use it with rotary switch at first but that can limit it to try one set of diodes at one time. On off SPDT'a are also the way to go

Cheers
Pawel

 No probs here, the idea is nice for quick listening.

Bear in mind though that sonic differences between diodes can be a lot less if you compensate the gain. For instance, when you switch between a LED and a 1N400x sonic differences are audible because of the higher forward voltage of a LED. When you compensate that added level the sonic differences are suddenly very little.

Other than that parallelling diodes is not going to work. But you since you do'nt mention that you knew that already. ;)

No I didn't, so to be sure - I can not stack couple, or few diode sections?

You can....physically. :blackeye
But the diode with the lowest forward voltage drop will do all the work and since the voltage will never rise above that voltage.. the others will not have any influence...ever. :secret:

Any more clues about the voltage compensation while you're at it? What's the trick to achieve it?
- Are you a mod or a rocker?
- Uh, no, I'm a mocker.

Thanks for explanation

It forced me to redo it. It's super tight, I hope I'll be able to squeeze all the components I wanted to have

Nice!

I found a similar layout on my hard disk. I don´t know who drew it...

This is what's inspired me. But sins I didn't know who draw it (unable to give a credit) I couldn't put it on my website, I've done my own. I like the possibilities of mine better, but the layout of HIS flexiclipper is smarter! I'll be better in time
