I was just wondering if there is any way I could get hold of some good NKT275 Germanium PNP Transistors,I do know that these are becoming rare to find, and I thought that maybe there might be a member who may have some....

Nah,just NKT275,or most nearest equivalents,if someone has some AC128 transistors too, that's okay,I have a Fuzz Face pedal that I built, but could never get it sounding right with some 2N2048 transistors I had,I've got some sillicons in it now,but I think it still doesn't sound anything like what it's supposed to,the pedal seems to be working correctly though....

I've used the PNP germaniums from culturejam's shop in several Fuzz Face builds and they all sounded great. I personally prefer them over the "name" transistors in both sound and stability.
They don't have the mojo nostalgia pedigree name of the AC's or NKT's but are very good transistors. I believe they are old RCA's and GE's.

I haven't had much success with paypal, hence the reason for asking....
Is there any way to talk to Culturejam directly,to discuss this with him?.....

You can get in touch with culturejam via PM from here. Also the Russian germaniums you can get from gordelux04 on eBay are worth trying. I've had good results from GT308B and GT402B, and they have a few tiny ones like GT309B and GT108G which are worth checking out.

Cool,thanks for that....
Yeah,I've been reading alot of good things about those Russian GT308B Transistors, and I was very intregued by them....

Most important thing is to learn how to measure the hfe and the leakage. The parts name really isn´t too important - these old trannies have drifted from their specified values anyway.
btw: I never got good results with AC128/122 and the new production nkt275´s from DSI etc.
The GT308 often sound really good (and the leakage is often pretty low), 2n1307 or similar are also a good and cheap choice.

I have some germanium transistors that I got from an old HP Electronic Counter,it had a display that used Nixie Tubes, anyway, some of these transistors have a strange type number on them, and I can't figure out what they are,I do know that they are deffinitely Germanium though,I also
scored three 2N2048 transistors, and three 2N1304 transistors, but I suspect that they are too leaky, more than 300uA,although they do work, but I couldn't get much gain out of them, some measured as much as 209 on a beta test....
Here's the number written on some of my Ge transistors:
1850-006 7226

Actually,I missed out a digit, the number on my GE transistors are this:
1850-0062 7226
