Here's a diagram to show how to connect Stompboxes in Paralell, rather than in Series,in this case 4 different distortion effects.... :)

Or maybe

Or you can do the same thing with a couple of effects with a Boss LS2 or a Paralooper

Yep,I can't see why they wouldn't work..... :)

And then, once you have everything connected up,you can mix the harmonics generated by each distortion effect and get interesting tones that you wouldn't be able to get if you put the pedals in series... :)

The concept isn't just limited to distortion effects, the sky's the limit.... :)

Anyone got any good ideas about bypass so one could at least have 2 'channels' available from such a complex beast?

Relays, toggles and logic would work but I think this'd be a great candidate for digital switching since you could buffer everything and still leave the pedal itself TB...
Testing, testing, won too fwee

I suppose you could implement some kind of relay switching that's driven by logic gate circuitry, you could probably include some kind of MIDI interface too, really, this paralell effects idea is wide open to tweaking and/or improvements, the sky's the limit..... :)

If you made a double Paralooper to give you 4 sends and returns, you could use a simple SPDT switch (or DPDT if you wanted LED indication) on each return to switch them to ground and so acting like a kill switch for that channel. Then you could independently switch out any channels you like.

I've used both the Nobels items above, and the Behringer MX882 for the rack effects that I use in my amp's loop to put them in parallel with each other so both processors can be used 100% wet. I think something like the Paralooper would be better for stompbox effects though.
