the two caps on the left are what showed up on my multimeter, not sure if those are correct.

for some reason the diode and cap on the right are both connected to ground on both sides? I tried bypassing the effect and they are still both connected to ground.

I do not have any experience with smd so any help identifying these parts would be useful.

potentiometer is b5k

purple g's are grounds

Good work with the photo gutshots. The diode and cap you mention that go to ground on the right hand side of the PCB look like reverse polarity protection diode and power smoothing capacitor, I don't know why your getting readings both ends going to gnd. Do you have any more pics as there doesnt seem to be a lot in there other than what looks like an input transitor buffer.
A look at the tracks under the ribbon cable where the rotary switch connects might be handy to look at as well.

Where does the ribbon cable attach to ? Whats on that ?

Ahh it looks like the ribbon cable goes to the bypass switch, i m issed that earlier.
It's fairly straight forward, if you want to start it , press start. You can work out the rest of the controls for yourself !

No silicon heaven ? preposterous ! Where would all the calculators go ?
