You could try Maplin, they may stock soldering stations,if finances allow, try and buy yourself a Soldering station rated at anywhere between 50 to 100Watts,also buy some spare fine conical or chisel shaped bits too,for solder a 100g reel of 1mm diameter 60/40 Resin-Cored solder should do the job,I'd also reccommend buying some rolls of 3mm wide solderwick desoldering braid,a pair of transistor nippers (small diagonal cutter)....
If there are any other local electronics parts store where you live, give them a try too...
Hope that helps....

If you're after maplin stuff, you can get it on ebay for 1/2 - 2/3 price from what I presume is someone buying B-stock or extra stock
As for solder; fuck the haters, I prefer leadfree because I'm so used to it, and if you're ever selling pedals to people abroad, you could get in big trouble...

AVOID MAPLIN!!!
Their prices are outrageous, and their staff are clueless.
The only reliable way to buy components and tools in the UK is mail order. Go to:
CPC: http://cpc.farnell.com/
Rapid: http://www.rapidonline.com/
These two will provide all you need at really sensible prices. Rapid provide really good component packs too - they vary the number of each value according to how frequently they're used (the packs have lots more 10k resistors than 8k2 for example).
A word of advice: don't just buy the cheapest tools you can get. They will
always let you down. Buy the very best you can, and they'll last a lifetime! Cheap tools are always a false economy.

True story: I once went into maplin for a single connector, and walked out empty handed because it was cheaper to buy online and pay shipping then to buy it in the shop...
Big exception: Eddystone (hammond) cases. Same price in maplin as on rapid/anywhere else really. And they have 1590A,B, BB, D and a really convinient in between size (145*95)
