Hi,
I've to change the NE571 of my Guyatone tube echo ADX (analog version) , I saw banzai sells their really high (6euros) compared to what we can find on ebay (+/- 2euros). why ?
I'd like to have your opinion about that, the ones sell on ebay are brand new or took from electronics parts ? (no doubts that banzai sells brand new )
(I read a post of Dirk hendrik about how you can destroy that chips with static electricity (like BS170 are) and i'd like to avoid buying a dead chip)
happy new year !!

Information
The NE570 and 571 haven't been made for about 10 years. Philips sold the manufacturing rights to On Semiconductors http://www.onsemi.com who make SA570 and 571. These are identical to the originals, so you can buy the $2 ones on ebay without worrying. I usually pay $1.25 each for 20 of them.devastator wrote:Hi,

Why do you need to change the 571 in your Guyatone? I've NEVER seen one fail. The fault is probably somewhere else!

I had some loud noise oscillation and distortion , a thing really strange. Why do you need to change the 571 in your Guyatone? I've NEVER seen one fail. The fault is probably somewhere else!
I followed the advices of a guy on an other forum , I took off the NE571 from the circuit and connected different points to make the sound coming into the delay part ) and I had a perfect clean delayed signal at the output (expect a litle oscillation noise when the time is at max). So I assume its the guilty (I'll check the voltage to be sure there's any voltage issues around (bias at AOP are corrects by the way) )
So, banzai sells the old version, the "vintage" one , explaining the price.
thanks for your response mictester
