Greetings, forum!

I am presented with a challenge from a friend to build an completely analog multi-effect. So far the design will require to have 7 foot switches, all in one line, on the bottom of the pedal. I have spent a good portion of the weekend on google, but still can't find any enclosure that would satisfy 1.75"-2" height, 6" depth and, say, 20" wide. Does something like this exist at all? Or is custom the only way to go?

Much deeper than you need, but take a look at the Hammond 1456WL1WHBU or 1456WL1BKBU.

Mouser can get them for $43 - $55.

I used that hammond style for my RingStinger/Meatball/Wobolator clones.

The 1U rack modules U can find at surplus places all over USA.
A few years ago, I found a whole stack of them at a place in sunnyvale, california.
Didn't need any at the time..like about $15bucks each.....

Since U need 20" wide, consider an aluminum front panel.
Some standard width rack panels have holes in them.
Go to an aluminum place, or surplus metal place, and get a wide panel. Cut to your dimentions.
To mount it (assuming U want it on the floor), make some wooden endpieces and rabbit the top, front and back.
Make the rabbit at least 1/2", so the wood end pieces need to be about 1" thick.
PAIA has done this on their old Programmable Drum Set and their Phlanger.
Google these for some ancient pics on the web...and U'll get the idea.
U will probably need to add a little bracing, at least in the middle for stompin'
Panel can't be too thick, or the switches won't come thru.

here is an idea. see if you can find a dead Mesa triple rec footswitch on line. they have something like six switches on them. they are pretty huge, too.

Have you tried Road Rage Pro Gear? They are also located in Ontario.
They sell enclosures and kits for switchboxes. The enclosure they use in this kit is 21" x 2 3/8" x 2 3/4".
Any local machine or metal working shop should be able to bend up what you need for a few dollars. The shop I used to work at did stuff like this all the time and it didn't cost as much as you might expect.

jb351 - Road rage units can't accommodate electronics. I was in contact with the owner, but they don't do custom orders that can accommodate controls and pcbs the size I need them (6" depth)

toneman - I was considering a replace for the top of a couple of old light controllers I found in a local surplus store. Perhaps, if the search yields nothing, I will look into a rack with a separate footswitch module. Thanks!
h8mtv - great suggestions, but I need an enclosed case. However, now I know where to get a decent aluminum chassis for the combo I will be building in the summer!

SO far the customaluminumboxes seems to be the way to go. Let's see how much it will cost in the end.
