I haven't redrawn it so it's not really mine to post but here's the link.

No, I've had the schematic since he posted it back in 2007.

just built this thing, sounds great!!! :thumbsup

but i gotta dumb newbe question....
what's the deal with the in4001/47mf cap to the led? is that for the indicator led to flash or something?

i haven't boxed it up yet, figured i better ask, cuz i don't get it!!

does it matter where i take the b+ from? is it necessary, or can i just hook the led up the way i normally would to the 3pdt switch?
:hmmm:
thanks in advance!!!

peace!

Don't know which layout you are working from, but sounds like the diode/cap is for polarity protection/filtering. Yeah, I would hook up the LED as you normally do..... should be good to go!

ah.... if it's the Eagle files layout, you would just connect the positive leg of the LED to the LED pad and run the negative leg to your foot switch. The resistor marked "RLED" would be 4.7k or whatever you normally use for your LED limiter resistor.
Hope this helps some and not confusing things more.

thanks greenskull, i appreciate it. i'm working from the schem in the zip file earlier in the thread, i built the vero layout. but it doesn't show the in4001/47mf part.
here's a snip:
Image

here's the whole schem...can you or someone please tell me where this is supposed to hook up? it says to t, but i don't see a t on the schem other than at ground...

The diode is for polarity protection and the big cap is to filter the power. I don't usually bother with polarity protection, and I usually hook a 100u electro directly across the power jack, so I left them off that vero layout. I have since updated the layout to include them, and I'll upload it when I get home tonight.

if rat shack is still open on my way home from work, I'm going to pick up some optos and give this a shot. I would highly suggest a buffer on the input though. I think it will liven things up a bit.

rat shack optos will work fine, 5k resistance is plenty for this circuit. use the biggest led ya can find, i used a 10 mm super bright white one and made a vactrol with shrink wrap...works great!! 50 k pots seem to be fine, too, if building a rat shack version.

I'm not buying pots from the shack, way too expensive- just optos!

i hear ya!! lol!

not crazy about the rat shack optos...they seem to be all over the place in terms of quality and resistance.

this is a really, really sweet sounding pedal bro, i think you're gonna really diggit!!

it seems to LOOOOOOOVE humbuckers...haven't tried it with a strat yet.

(In theory) would having a buffered (non-true bypass) pedal in front of it have the same effect?

i run it at the end of my fx chain, maybe the buffering would improve it. i usually like vibes before distortion tho, have to try both ways.
can always add a little buffer easy enough.
