I built this using a modified board layout provided in SHAKE'S blog page, after being alerted to it by soulsonic.
I had to trim the board a bit around the edges to get it to fit inside the Hammond 1590B bottom plate - I stuck some insulating mylar overhead projector film to the inside of the bottom plate first though to stop the circuit tracks shorting to ground
In the one of the pictures you will notice a small piece of mylar film bent at 90 degrees to stop the bypass buffer resistor from shorting against the inside edge of the bottom plate.
I changed a few of the components to standard values, used schottkey diodes in the charge coupler and 1N914 diodes for the dc input polarity protection. I also used 1N34 or 1N60 germanium diodes and OPA2134 high performance op amps in place of the 1N270 and TL072 types.
One radical change was to the 15k resistor following the input low pass filter - because of a sever lack of bass response I decreased this to 1k5 to get more bass boost though the following virtual earth mixing stage. i feel it definately improves the build.
I used a dual ganged 100k linear poti for the gain controll and 10k linear single potis for the treble and output controls.
You may notice a wiper on the back of the dual poti - this was used as a click stop in the centre of the potis rotation - all I had in a dual poti lying around - I removed the metal slotted circular cover piece because it was touching one of the 1uf electros when the bottom plate was attached
I will post any tweaks or improvements as they come to hand - in the meantime here is all the bits and pieces you need to build one.
