It sounds pretty cool with the mods on it baja. I've just finished off building one up 8)

I'm really looking forward to seeing the project out here on FSB!

I had a chance to us a Klon for a few days last week.
In general I was pretty impressed with it, but I'd love the chance to have a bit of a tweak. It did have a bit of the nasal over boosted mids quality to it, but it certainly does a good job of keeping the bass intact.
The Boost with Gain turned down was great though.

There is a revision 2 schematic for the KLON ( the Sagittarian charger is just a nano size version of this - adapted by me from an original layout by SHAKE, one of our Japanese friends, from his blog site ), but i will have to ask the member first for his permission to post it publicly here.
More later

Be sure and use an ICL7660S. The "S" means it's the 12v version! No power supply worries with that one.

Yes, that looks like it should work fine. The pinout is the same and the current and voltage capabilities look like they are where they should be.

This is where I got my layout from - Japan, but the rev 2 uses the CORRECT value parts - the original schematic has many errors on it. hopefully our Japanese friends will use this new schematic from soulsonic to upgrade their clones too.
cheers

There are 2 C15's on the schematic.
I'm guessing that the 4.7uf is C16 (tantalum) ?

there are indeed two C15's, but if you look carefully, you also see a C16 (1u) - it's the same one that was tantalum on schematic version 1

Updated!
I updated the schematic to fix the duplicate part number and to fix the direction of the Treble control wiring. I kept the same name on the file so the previous links should still be valid. Please download the latest one... this should be the final update.

I've finished my test build to verify the schematic, and so far, I believe the sound is dead-on with these values: same thick midrange and big low-end... even the same hiss!

Everyone please throw out the old anonymous Klon schematic; it is garbage and not even close to the true Klon.
