I hope this is the right area for this query. I am building a pedal that will house both a chorus and a Fuzz unit (Big Muff-type circuit). Each unit is individually operable, then I want to include a "blend" knob that allows the user to control how much of each unit is used when operated simultaneously. I was told by a local tech that this would not be a very advantageous design and that I'd be better off just building two different pedals. I'm not sure I agree, but before I go further, I'd ask you for any input you may have. Thanks so much!

Consider what each effect does to the guitar signal. It's probably a useful effect to put the chorus after the BMP, not before (you'd get some strange intermodulation effects, but they wouldn't really be musical!).

If you put the two effects in parallel, the BMP side would have much more sustain than the chorus side, and the chorus would probably get lost in the mix. I'd be inclined to put the BMP first, and the chorus second. Give each effect true bypass, and you can use them separately or together.
"Why is it humming?" "Because it doesn't know the words!"
