yeah, i realise that i was wrong, as the 100k pot and the 500k pot wouldn't be synchronised when turning.
but this resistor in parrallel could perhaps be replaced by a pot instead of using a swith ? and it would be much more simple than my previous wrong idea !
voilà, a tone pot :D

I bought those. seller is a really nice and helpful contact and most of them fall in the range of 70-80, some are in the 60ies, some are in the 90-100s.

Yes most of the 70-80, then smaller part 90-100 that is true,
even the ability to my package such a sample proved.

voilà, a tone pot

yes,but not like a strat tone pot with a cap. a 125k pot would transform a 500k pot into a 100k pot, if wired in serie.
years and years since i didn't do maths ! lol, thats funny.

so, a 10M pot with its lugs 1 and 2 , in parrallel, connected with the lugs 1 and 3 of the 500k pot would adjust the value of the 500k pot potential resistor between 0 and 476k. i think it's the solution. but it would be wierd, at zero, i don't know how it's supposed to work.

this site is helpful, when you're tired of writing equations ; )

it's in french, my language, but it's not difficult to understand the purpose. many many many french words are the same or almost the same, once in english, and have a mostly just a different prononciation. i think that there are just a lot more words existing/available in the french language.

I did this layout with external bipolar power supply (not sure about the wiring, but I think it should work), as I like my power bank, and hate batteries.

I hope you enjoy it.

Odd Q pinout, as I did it for funky lil russian transistors I have (no leakage, small package, right gains), I don't remember the name of them, I don't have them here with me, I think it was Culture Jam who also is using them

The rest of the text is copy and paste from JH-F1 tread ;)
I was inspired by EW's perfboard fuzzface layouts he done years ago. I just simply added few components as per schematic, still a lot of vintage charm and vibe. No trimmers, it's easy to set fixed bias, we're not going into mass production, do we?

That would be cool to have it :thumbsup

BTW, later on I'll post another layout with more common Q pinout

I just found this article where Jeorge talks about the Hendrix, Bonamassa and Johnson fuzz.
He says that the Hendrix fuzz is biased at 6V on the collector of Q2,
Bonamassa's is biased at 4,5 at C of Q2
and he Johnson is, as we know, biased even lower.
There’s only nine volts of headroom, so we set the bias on the Jimi Hendrix model at six volts so that when you hit it hard, it doesn’t get quite as buzzy. Joe Bonamassa likes a more compressed response, so his Signature Fuzz Face is biased in the middle at around 4.5 volts. Eric Johnson prefers his to be biased ever lower, but he keeps the Fuzz knob pulled back, and through a Marshall with a Strat, it all works.

Nice. Thanks a lot. Mr.Tripps said in EJ's topic that it is biased @ 3v

Can any 1 confirm this layout works? aswell as the bipolar powersupply ?

is this the signature and a variation thereof or just another fuzz face he uses?

that is his personal signature fuzz he has on his board,
you can probably call it the prototype of the regular production model...
