yeah that's my bad apparently the op-amp isn't even a TL022 (check one of bajaman's posts he goes into it)
i imagine it would work but it wouldn't sound like the original, maybe socket it and give it a shot, can't hurt :D

There is an error in the posted schematic. Pin 1 of the 2nd LM386 should not be connected to anything. (it is connected to the output pin 5 in the schematic). This error is not in Bajaman's PCB layout.

good spotting coldcraft :thumbsup
bajaman

and yes, the TLC2262 is the correct op amp for this project, the TL022 or TL072 will not give the same sound ( but you may like the scooped midrange that the 022 gives :| ).
Use the TLC2262 for the fattest sounding Peach Fuzz
cheers

any ideas for changes/mods to the tone control. I'm finding it dulls the sound a bit too much and I'd like to filter more of the highest frequencies

is there any reason why one couldn't use the other half of the TLC2262 as an output buffer?

So I am assuming that this error means the vero layout is incorrect? or has it been verified? I would love to build this but I am not good with schemes....

i don't know sorry. it is a simple fix though. Pins 1 and 5 should not be connected so you could just severe that.

also any idea what Diode was in the original....Bajaman this maybe for you?..... I see in the scheme it says 1n4...... I got 1n4004's on hand but do not know if a different one like a 1n4001 would be better?

this is a polarity protection diode, you can use 1n400X it wont make any difference.

The tone stack is interesting, i've never seen a similar one. From what i see, it seems that the tone pot is panning between a fixed low pass filter and a non filtered output. Am i right?
Also, does this pedal sustains for days like the good old muff? If so i'm in to build one (on perf, obviously). :D

I see one thing missing in Headless' vero: a 2n5088 transistor...

I believe the 2N5088 is used in the relay bypass circuit and the layout is designed for a simple mechanical true bypass.
Loud's a tone, right?

thanks you just saved me a lot of work. I'm going to trace this against a schematic and hope to verify it with a build soon. (haven't begun the PCB etching phase of my life just yet)

OK! headless' layout is verified! sounds pretty cool. I don't have the TLC2262 on hand to try out, but I settled on a LM2904 sounding pretty decent. I'll be ordering the correct part from Mouser. The only problem I had with the layout is the spacing is really tight around the caps so I had to use the smallest caps I had to make it work. I might do another layout later for larger parts in a bigger enclosure.

I made some minor improvements to the layout for clarity (other than the major cut under C4 oversight, that was very hard to spot in the original layout) and here it is

here's the schematic with the minor correction noted earlier about IC3, and bajaman's IC1 idea

it would probably be a good idea to note the proper 386 chip on the schematic as well. thanks for verifying the vero. I always wanted to build one of these things, maybe I'll get around to it one of these days.
