Fender deville reverb matching

HELLO EVERYONE
ive got a deville with shot reverb. I think the tank is 4EB3C1B,
Ive got a DSL head with 4BB3C1B, will it be safe to change the tank to test if its the tank or will the mismatched (600 to 150 ohms) input impedence bugger things up?
Cheers in advance Ben

I would say it might be best to avoid that mismatch. I haven't looked at the schematic but if its got a tube and transformer to drive it, they will be designed for that impedance. It would change the drive curent and stuff like that...haven't really read up on it.

The DSL uses 3 paralleled op amps from an LM348 quad op amp to provide a high drive current to the 4BB3C1B tank, while the DeVille uses a single op amp from a TL072.
The DeVille won't be able to drive the tank as hard, but you should still be able to get a nice subtle reverb.
It would be better to get the correct replacement tank if you like the original DeVille reverb though.
