Dumble Overdrive Special 1984

An all original classic, certainly... but $85k?

I guess you can either have the amp... or buy a house to plug it in.

imagine how many exact clones you could build with $85.000!

Mount a roof on top of them and you´ve got a house...

The carpet?

$1.000.000 - Robben Ford peed on it when he was a baby.

Likewise!  As I remember, this model had an inherent hum problem and the thing also hissed badly. The build quality wasn't all that great either.

It's also funny that they make great play of having the "original tubes" in there. They're going to be almost 30 years old, and are probably pretty "soft" by now! :?

The thing is probably worth $500 if it's in good, working order. For that price, I'd also want a set of spare bottles, too. :!:

I cannot believe that the seller actually thinks that he'll get that crazy price for the thing!

Strictly for collectors. Just go to the ampgarage to learn how to build one.
KindaFuzzy - Looks like a blue nail polish and nutella sandwich.

Guitarlcarl - I did take offence at being called an idiot by a moron.

I could understand some collectors going for the classic AC30, Twin Reverb, Marshall or Mesa Boogie, but junk like this is just plain stupid.

I picked up an old "Crate" amplifier recently in a South London junk shop for £16. It needed a little TLC, but it worked perfectly after ½-hour! I gave it away to the son of a friend who's in his first band, and then saw a similar one advertised for £650!!!

I always wanted a Dumble 'cos Lowell George used one
But then I saw Lowell was using a BF Super Reverb (which I've got) so I don't care

Jeez, if the Dumble's worth that much, then what's my little nest egg worth? heh
