Fantastic I've been hanging out to see what's inside the bass version. Any chance of getting a pic of track side of the board so if there are any changes to the original guitar schematic they can be spotted. Thanks again

i´m afraid i only have pics from the component side. only had the thing for a short time together with the blueberry and did not get to take the bass comp apart.
i have more detailed pics of the component side but i guess they don´t make sense without the track side.
cheers,
lohstah

As you can see from the diamond track side it would be helpful for the bass diamond compressor but you've done well. Don't usually get a lot of bass pedals looked at.

such a pity no track side. This wouldn't take much to get against the guitar one if only one other piece was there. Bump to anyone that may have it. Thanks in advance

Are we still needing a track side pic of the pedal? I just got one in this week and can take it apart if needed.

I had forgotten the diamond comp was sprinkled with fred briggs magic.
His diamante comp might be a beast when optimized for bass.
Or look at the schem of the tilt eq in the standard diamond comp.

courtesy of Briggs inc, Ltd.
The text states the tilt eq is centered @ 900hz. Comparing this schem to the Geofx eq white paper:
Change C3 and c4 to .0047uf to push center frequency of the eq down toward 150 hz (per rg Keen's graphic eq numbers)
or .0033uf for @ 250 hz center.
Now adjust input components and you may be getting close to a bass ready pedal. i am not a bassist so overlook me if these are not the frequencies to emphasize. But 150 hz sounds about right for bass in a mix. In my mixes I cut off bass and bass drum below 80 hz mainly because I love the low end interaction on Abbey Road and the White Album and those were the frequencies emphasized on those mixes.
Correct me if I am wrong, but if you attack me I am going to shove it up your asses. Keep your bad attitudes on your own continents.

Using whitekeyhole's schematic:
maybe change:
C11 to 51p.
R22 to 1k.
replace C10 and C7 with a 22n.
I am a pedal builder who follows the recipe of the experts, but these seem to be values that will make the input of the diamond comp better for bass.
I could be wrong so feel free to correct my effort.

i think there would be a number of things they have changed in the bass version. Head room would be one to gain more clarity. Obviously they would tune the tone control section to more bass guitar frequency's and they may have adjusted the gain to cater for more active style pickups. i am only guessing but with the new pics we can find out.

This is not correct, to change the pivot frequency you need to change both capacitors on the filter. Here is an
article analyzing the tilt eq filter (not mine). To get a center frequency of 250Hz you need to use 20nF on C4 and C5 of WhiteKeyHole's schem.
I have checked it in LTSpice:
I've written a blog post with a long explanation of what I have found and I don't want to self link on my first time posting here, but I have implemented and
on-line calculator to design a custom tilt eq filter and that maybe useful for someone here. With it you can specify your desired center frequency and amount of bass and treble boost (it can be asymetric) and it calculates the component values needed.
