Those who drew this shematic wrong?

Bringing up an oldie..... took the day off from work yesterday, only to get stuck inside with the rain. What else to do but build a pedal!
Built this one up on perf (the 3.5% version), and have to say I'm pretty pleased with the results. Haven't had a chance to crank it up yet (the wife was asleep), but it has a good range of overdrive to fuzz sounds.

was a nightmare doing this build... I never saw the jumper next to r1 and spent hours trying to work out what was going on

also try experimenting with the 2nd pair of clipping transistors (the ones acting like diodes). I found that the first 2 (2n5088's) were essential to the sound of this thing but a lot of fun can be had by experimenting with the other 2!

Eventually I settled for bc108a's. Nice glassy, transparent, low gain fuzzy sound.

Anyone have a verified PCB or Layout of this?

I'm sort of seeing why the input pot might want to be linear but I'm still not getting
why the linear output volume pot. This seems to be some generic pedal thing but I can't
find the explanation of why.

I'm also curious about the transistor choice. I went ahead and ordered some 2N2219As
and a 2N2905 but I wonder why these transistors, which seemed a bit pricey, are better
than something cheap. Does anyone have, or can anyone point me to, an explanation
of transitor choices for a circuit like this?

It is essentially a well behaved fuzz face with all the "extra" resistors in place to tame down the gain of readily available silicon transistors. You can use whatever transistors you like, go with what sounds the best to you. Lots of different transistors will work.

Sometimes linear pots are more readily available and cheaper than the audio tapers. From a MFGing standpoint I could see how its easier to keep a more minimal stock to keep things moving smoothly. Sometimes linear tapers can feel better depending on the output level and impedence of the circuit and where you want unity to be in the sweep.
