So, I am building a custom guitar and, long story short, I could really use a 5PDT switch (rotary or toggle, preferably) to use as my mono to stereo splitter control.

At least, I think it should work that way. Feel free to critique.

But anyway, the guitar has two split coil pickups with four conductors each. The idea is to use them as a normal 4-way telecaster would be used in mono mode and to have a second mode which splits the top three strings from the bottom three strings and is controlled like two 4-way teles which can then be sent out either in stereo to two amps or, with the use of another switch, be mixed back down to mono in either series or parallel and in or out of phase with the other half of the strings. This SHOULD allow any combination of two coils to hum cancel.

Anyway, the two mono/stereo split switches (one on the left and one to the right of the bridge pickup's representation, here) should really be one switch but it would have to be a 5-pole (or more) double throw switch.

I can't seem to find one like that. Anyone have any ideas?

I was a little confused by the description of the 6PDT rotary. It says it's 3PDT on each wafer. What does that mean exactly? I don't really know as much about the way rotary switches work as I should.

It is made with 2 'rows' of 3pdt each controlled by the same shaft. That makes it 6pdt.

same production idea as a dual pot...

So that would mean it has 9 connection points on each wafer?

I would think so... It's not a product that I know personally. I just did a little googling for you that's all. Sorry if I was misleading you.

I asumed you where american so I just picked the first the best american site. I'm in Europe and try to avoid US dealers because of the import taxes we have to pay. I have often bought from banzai and i just did a little search...
