Hi guys..
So i understand that the sweep of a tone control is determined by the resistance of the pot (20k) and another resistor (say 1k) and a capacitor and the capacitor works with the 2 resistances to set the high and low frequencies on the tone control range. right?
My question is does the value of the resistor affect the structure of the sound of the pedal??
; in other words can you exactly match the sound of 2 pedals each with different tone control ranges if you hit the same frequency on the sweep?

im really interested if this is the case!

here you go my friend since this is roughly the same tone as a tubescreamer http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/t ... sxtech.htm

read the tone section. i know its slightly different values but couple the theory with the capacitor reactance chart from analog guru

http://analogguru.an.ohost.de/techstuff/Reactance.htm

and you will have a better understanding of it. also something to think about you can use a dual pot with different freq ranges set for each section even a smaller or larger resistance on the second one which will change gain and sweep as well. you can cycle this through a push pull pot an external switch or just set the high end with one and low with the other. really the sky is the limit

thanks, so is it just the limits of the knob that change or will affect the tone?
