Hi,
I've recently come into possesion of one of these:
http://www.artecsound.com/amps/rx-5.htm
(Mine's a black one)
Single sided, mixed SMT and through hole.
"Power" amp is a TEA2025L, 2 channels bridged 4.6W (!) into 8 ohm.
HCF4060 with a XTal for 440Hz tone generation.
TL062 for "preamp" section.
Weakest point is the speaker, of course. But for those late night playing or some weekend/part semi accoustic jamming, it sounds really good. Some nice soft overdrive tones, not so good at higher gain settings ("rock" and "metal" amp. mode)
I still couldn't figure how the "amp selection" works, seems nice to implement as a 5 mode amp simulator pedal. I was probing around with the DMM in continuity check mode but run out of patiente, must come back to this. I searched online for a similar rotary switch but couldn't find it. However, I started (painfully, slowly) to trace it; as SMD cap values are _not_ printed it seems like it would be a half-waste of time, but at least I'll try to figure out the circuit topology (in particular the amp selection).
Pictures attached. As it seems it will remain dismantle a couple days, if is there some interest in this and you need some close up or more pictures, just ask.
Best regards,
Juanro
