First vero build suggestions?

Hey guys, noon here, I am not a complete beginner as I have done 5 or so pcb builds and a dew re houses. But I am looking to get into veto, any one have Amy suggestions on a build that would be good for me? Also it would be great if it was a decent pedal as well.
Thanks

What sort of pedal are you after? Here's a One knob fuzz, two knob vibrato, three knob tonebender, and four knob super-fuzzface all verified.

Yeah man Vero, dang!
Plus I never got any notifications on this thread, I am thinking the SI fuzz, maybe the one knob, yup. I am going for it.

The one knob fuzz is how I got into vero, the rest look awesome! Quick question, is the bias and blend pots on the SiFace+ both used as variable resistors w/ the missing lug tied to the middle wiper? Neither pot has any note about their lug 1 on that layout.

yep, variable resistors: you can tie lug 1+2 if you like, but i don't think it is any different electrically if you don't. i've just noticed some of the layouts are missing pot and tranny values, i'll dig them out and post them up later this evening.

OK, it's only the One Knob Fuzz, and that uses a 500KA volume pot.

Finally forced myself to build a Sili Tonebender and decided to go with your layout Nocentelli, I think its the best one I've seen so far! ![Good Job! [smilie=a_goodjob.gif]](./images/smilies/a_goodjob.gif)
I had to squeeze it down one hole on the far right but it wasn't a problem, just switched the 10K and 100n and put the wires for the tone pot under that cap. The vero I have has mounting holes at the four corners so I had to drill a hole to attach the 9v. My first attempt was to use a center punch to make a pilot hole for the bit, not a good idea. It cracked the vero so I wouldn't recommend doing it that way. Luckily it didn't destroy the board so I just went for another hole and it worked a charm w/o a pilot hole.
Now my goal was to build something alike John Lyons Scarab Fuzz, so I added 2 more pots. I use Gagan's Input Cap Blend and replaced the 10k resistor (coming from C of Q3 and in between B and C of Q4) w/ a 100R and put a 10kB pot in series which is supposed to act as a bias knob. The Fat knob (Input Cap Blend) I used a 10n and 10uf, gets pretty fat on the 10uf side of the pots turn. Between the tone pot and this added fat pot I can get a lot of tone control. I didn't really play with the bias knob too much, kinda set it where it sounded good and left it.
It sounds really awesome. I have 2n5089 (gonna put some Bc108/9's when I get a chance) in there right now and I can get some classic sounds with it. It gets real nasty but not as nasty as I though it would. Mictester made a suggestion to chance the 47k feedback/bias resistor up to something like 470k, which will lower the touch sensitivity (this pedal has tons of it) in compensation for a high screaming gain monster!! Sounds like what I'm looking for...
When I get a chance I'll play it through an almost dirty tube amp and see if that's what I was missing.
What a concept, a five knob tonebender...

Have a look at the Skreddy Lunar Fuzz deluxe - Pretty much a 5 knob Tonebender, but with lots of filtering to help smooooth it out. He also implements the input cap blend a bit differently, putting it after the first transistor stage. Check it out, it's a fantastic re-working of a classic pedal.bigmufffuzzwizz wrote:What a concept, a five knob tonebender...

I've built the guitarpcb version of the Lunar Fuzz, man I love tone from that thing. So much shaping available w/ all the knobs and more gain than I think I could possibly need (no such thing!!!). And yes it is smoooooooooth sustain for days!
I did get a chance to look at the schem and its quite interesting. I originally expected it to be a pretty dead on muff clone, but it really isn't! Lots of changes like what you mentioned w/ the input cap blend not at the front and putting filtering pre and post distortion. Is the deluxe version any different than the original or is it just making all the trimpots exterenal pots?

Yeah, the deluxe is just the standard with the pre and bright trimmers as pots: and it's a tonebender variant, not a muff, but I think you meant that. I have actually built a five knob big muff, with an input cap blend and a mid pot: loads of different fuzz sounds available, but overall I like the lunar fuzz more.

+ for the Lunar Module. Great sounding design.
