Signal but no effect

Ok, you got your soldering iron and nothing is going to hold you back, but you have no clue where to start or what to build. There were others before you with the same questions... read them first.

Ok so I have signal throughout my entire circuit but I have no effect at all. Actually the only place I dont have signal is at some spots in my diode clipping circuit, but I dont feel like this is the prob at all. Also, how can I get my pots and inputs and outputs grounded? I have to hold my cable to get it grounded. This is all on a bread board by the by. Ty for the help in advance!

OK ok...so I went through this very slowly today and found a ground issue. Fixed it and effect is there now. I now was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get my input and output grounded out on my bread board. I have to hold both in order for them to ground. I have the sleeves going to ground already so Im a lil confused. Also, Im using stereo jacks out as well as in.
Ty again.

What you could do is connect the sleeves of the in and out sockets together with a suitable length of insulated wire, then connect the sleeve of one socket to the circuit ground on the breadboard, I'm wondering if your grounding issue could be caused by a bad contact in either your in socket, or your out socket, if so, maybe try replacing both sockets with new ones might fix the grounding issue.... :hmmm:
