Without having ever been in Chicago,
The absence of any response suggests it's not there. Regarding electronics stores the local yellow pages and Google could help. Specific at pedal parts expect online shopping to be the only option. Making a living on pedal and or amp parts requires a market as big as the US on minimal.

I live in the Northern burbs and the only place I am aware of is in WI. www.chesterelectronics.com has a fair selection of parts, but I only go there if I am in a pinch - it is 30 min from me and I would just as soon order from small bear or mouser or ebay.

- my favorite amplifier: anything tube
- Completed builds: Ds-1 mods, SD-1 mods, Small Clone mods, Muff build, Axis build, various other transistor booster builds... I can build a badaxe harmonic perc, but I can't get a fuzzface to sound worth a crap!
