I've been experimenting with baking my enamel finishes shot from a spray can. Most guys I read about do it at 150˚F but I'm getting better results at around 300˚F to 325˚F, which is more common among the guys who restore antique toys and others. Does anyone have any experience using temps like these with laser printer water slide decal paper? I e-mail the manufacturer (Papillio) but have not heard back yet

I don't have much luck with baking enamel clearcoat over decals..... blisters up. Funny thing is it used to work fine. Maybe they changed the formula of Rustoleum?
These days for me, Krylon clear works better (acrylic). Pop it in the toaster over for 25 minutes at around 150 degrees or even 100 degrees for a half hour or so and comes out smooth.
Also if you use a lacquer base coat, you can use lacquer clear with no baking needed. I gotta say I'm liking Krylon brand acrylic the best right now.
