Subminiature tubes are getting scarce. You should be able to find these on ebay
or some of the tube suppliers on the internet. I've seen submini's come with long
leads and with short leads. The short leads were for sockets, which is nearly
impossible to find today. The long leads can be directly soldered to your pcb and
do not need a socket. Be alert when purchasing so you'll know what your getting.
Also, be aware that some submini's come in two versions, like the 6111 and 6111 WA.
The WA versions were made to withstand higher voltages and are preferred for the
power stage. Search the forums for other submini amps like the Superfly and
Superfly Special. These are very similar to the Murder One but use different tubes
that will give you a wider choice of tubes. Submini's seem to average about
$10 US apiece plus shipping.

How about a mini 20-watt amp? I made one of these and it works nicely :thumbsup

FENDER CHAMP!!!

My advice would be that instead of messing with the subminiature stuff, build what you'd call more of a *real* amp. Something simple and single ended like a champ is easy as pie to build and sounds fantastic.
