Here is a interesting one that claims to be a fuzz with tone control. I always thought a fuzz used transistors

a while back, i found this article at a local library and put the circuit on a breadboard, IIRC ... the tone section is pretty useful .... i only tried it with guitar at the time ... i may box it up sometime ...
