I've used them in some builds and not noticed any issues. But then again, I can't hear mojo worth a damn!

I think it's a reference to the caps.coldcraft wrote:whats a MMK?

I think they are an acceptable solution for supply decoupling, but I do not recommend them for use as coupling capacitors where signal is present.culturejam wrote:Are those bad?Jack Deville wrote:MMKs??

Damn, that's a pretty negative thing to say about a film cap.Jack Deville wrote:I think they are an acceptable solution for supply decoupling, but I do not recommend them for use as coupling capacitors where signal is present.

Does anyone else share Mr. Deville's negative opinion of the MMK film caps?culturejam wrote:Damn, that's a pretty negative thing to say about a film cap.Jack Deville wrote:I think they are an acceptable solution for supply decoupling, but I do not recommend them for use as coupling capacitors where signal is present.
I use greenies for some less common values so I probably would never notice the difference.

They've sounded fine to me whenever I've used them.

Word on the street is, yes. I forget which street though.
Yep. According to JHS's site it's a modified Bluesbreaker:candletears7 wrote:Word on the street is, yes. I forget which street though.

Is there a technical description on why the MMK type cap are not so good? I'm only a noob but I've used them in a few builds with no issues. My main point being I got about 100pcs for cheap and If their prone to failure or generally problematic I'd like to know. No financial loss for me but I'd rather not have to fix an otherwise good build if I can help it. I use them for signal caps in 9 volt transistor based circuits. Thanks for any info.

I wish I had one to fully trace, but someone I know who has a double barrel (but lives states away from me) was kind enough to let me know that the opamp is a LM833N.
