I found some cool ideas from this site when I built my cabinets.

I've just completed a fEARful bass cab, but they are not only for bass, they do equally well with keyboards, drums and PA.

Not cheap but worth the cost in my opinion. They use either the Eminence 3012LF or 3015LF 12" or 15" bass speaker plus a choice of 2 mid drivers with optional tweeters, probably needed for keyboards.

Pretty keen to build the box myself with help from an experienced woodworking friend.
I was thinking about building a column cabinet with a 15 at the bottom, 12 in the middle and 10 at the top. Or it could be 12" + 10" + 8".
I haven't checked how many ohms the head puts out but you can wire them to get the desired result yes? no?

Not usually a good idea mixing speaker sizes unless you have them working different frequency bands, woofer, mid, tweeter, then you need a well designed crossover.
There is a lot more to speaker cabinets than building a box and fitting speakers in it. Yes it will make noises and you can probably wire the speakers in such a way that you do not damage the amp but if you want it to sound good then it needs to be designed around the speaker/s you are using. Google Thiele Small parameters.
On the Eminence website they have suggested enclosures details for their speakers. That is a very good starting point.
