Eh, I figured it out pretty quickly. Funny I didn't notice the "lock layers" function before...
Now I can just drag the PCB traces out from under the components, very nice.

yeah, thanks Bancika, I recently made a layout with it and I should say it's very intuitive.
And as far as vero layouts are concerned, I don't see why anybody would go through the trouble of planning a vero with pencil and eraser again.

If it would be very easy to implement a 'Render schematic,' I think that would be a good idea. Then you could debug that rendered schematic (or with the help of it), compare it with one you copied, etc. You would have a digital exact version of the circuit you created to share with people on the web... Yesterday still, I found a Fuzz Face schematic with a 100nF instead of 10nF -- if there would have been an accompanying schematic, people would have spotted it right away. Your program really has become the standard for the kitchen solder jockeys :horsey:

I'm on Mac OS 10.4.x, but there is no way for me to get beyond that .exe file, even though Java should be ok. But will do some googling tomorrow on that.

Website not yet up?
http://diylc.sourceforge.net

take care!

Oh yeah, I would really raise the standard by at least asking email subscriptions for

Keep us updated

looks like a problem with sourceforge hosting, site is up and running, but still under development.
Since you mentioned exe file, which version are you trying? There's version 2 written in java (available on my site storm-software.co.yu/diy) that works everywere. It also supports schematics.
cheers,
Bane

Of course I went to http://storm-software.co.yu/diy/index.p ... t=software where it does say "Download the latest version" --
now I saw the V2 Java Beta: http://storm-software.co.yu/diylc/diylc_beta.zip

Works flawlessly and look great! thanks!

Sorry about that, I don't have much time to update it. It's rectified, there are two links on that page now.
Cheers,

Hi,
Downloaded the java version to use on my Mac, but can't see anywhere to render a printable pcb layout? also, is there any trimpots in there to use?

Other than that, looks like a great program!

Thanks!

Kier.

I miss the fact that the solder pads were a standard part of the components, like the previous version. It's just such a pain to have to go in and manually insert the pads on each component, especially in a very large PCB. The schematic draw feature is amazing! I've been using MS Paint, with a library of hand drawn parts. This is much nicer! Thanks for all the hard work bancika!

When do you think you'll have the new version up and running?

Cheers
Dave

I have the same problem when I run it in Linux (Ubuntu). I haven't been able to figure out a fix for it either. It works fine in Windoze though.

Mr. G, I found out why. right click on the DIYLC.jar. and click properties. then put java as a default reader.

Tried that, and it still doesn't work. Guess I'm just going to have to wait for the next release.

it would be sweet if you could see the backside of boards ala that other vero program lochmaster. sweet function.

Great program Bane, thanks very much for giving this to us. One quick question, how much work would be involved in adding a breadboard option to the board parts list? If it wouldn't be a big job I think it would be useful, particularly for people doing tutorials etc. Just a single layout like the attached template would cover all but the biggest effect circuits.

Just a quick bump.

Where is the current Mac compatible version being hosted?

Thanks
