I find that a lot of stuff at GEOFEX gets passed over after a while. I suspect that a lot of folks here haven't see this one:

I hate trying to solder wires when I can't get the board, pots, and jacks to hold still. So I came up with this soldering block to let me get them mostly fixed in place while I soldered in the wires.

It still doesn't strip the wires, but I do have a pair of tweezers-style thermal wire strippers which helps that particular pain.

I tend to use a screwed up hammond case for this. Otherwise, there's no difference. It's these plain easy stuff that get's overlooked way too often.

Ever considered that any pedal is perfect to keep your jacks in place while soldering em? Just plug em in.
