Hi Pedal grinder,
No sorry mate I only have to take one peek at the schemo to tell you the inventor will never make it into the pedal hall of fame.
Very few of these teck magazines seem to have a clue about how to build a quality guitar interface. That said some are ok but you need to read between the lines a fair bit.
Bare in mind a lot of magazine projects stuff is done on the fly,, i.e. The editor says we need to fill the pages has anyone got a quick and dirty circuit for this month has anyone got fuzz box circuit. A lot of them are almost straight text book circuits and are rarely ever tested Before printing.
Not uncommon to find corrections in the next month back pages.
Though,,,On rare occasions they do make very good devices but they are far and few.

I cut my teeth on those over rated magazine music circuits and kits sold at DSmith and Jaycar but a lot are just wasted solder.
(Before Inet) We all had to start somewhere and you slowly gain an insight into the vast complex world of Audio electronics.
Phil.

yeah i couldn't agree more i post them so guys that may like to read them may get something from them or can grab a section from one that may work or even give them a idea for another. I totally understand that some of them are second rate but i figure it doesn't hurt to share them still as they have some knowledge and even when they describe the circuits on how they work it may help someone to understand another unit so it makes there life easier. I hope people are enjoying them but if there not i won't worry i thought there might be some out there that enjoy them and get something from them. Cheers

Ge diodes in the feedback loop is a recipe for thin fizzy distortion. Agree with Fatt

The "balance" control is mixing two out-of-phase signals so in the middle settings it will sound thin and, well, "outofphasey".
I remember to had a similar issue with the ROG UBEScreamer (a great sounding circuit, by the way, save for that little problem)
