so ....as promised......some guts.......oh ,and I reeeealy love how this EQ sounds........huge tone......lowest frequency I can hardly hear!!!! it is close to infrasound

a question... those slide pots can be replaced by common pots?... they are linear??

Yes they're linear. But, when taking rotary's the concept "graphic" fades away. The graphic applies to the quick overview of how the frequencies are altered.
Furthermore, this EQ is nothing more or less special than most other eq's. Compare this one to a Boss GE7 or a Ibanez GE10, as examples, and you'll see exactly the same topology of multiple gyrator circuits for the fixed frequency bands and a shelve filter for the top frequency band.

more is always better

so ( excuse me if i'm wrong) it's completely possible to build this unit using simple rotary linear pots ( B100k)??

What about using "W" taper pots?

Yes you can.
What I'm interested in is wether the pots are 100k (schem 1) or 10k (schem 2). Not that it matters soundwise..
perhaps. Boris can tell?
As for the W taper, you are spot on!

It will give you the most easy curve to control with sonically.

I like this EQ,becouse it is so big!!!.....will try to make DIY project if you want....

I compared it to vintage blue MXR 6 band EQ, and there is a lot of difference in sound.....different frequencies....much more combinations, and headroom........
...I do not say it is better,just different.....I like them both
