If its reasonably priced he could have a winner with that.

Well, price and sound. You can buy a DMB for $180, which has more flexibility if a slightly different feature set. If he's using the same chips then it's going to tend to sound the same and it won't be really exciting. If he can sell it for $140, or if he can refine the sound closer to the original DM2/AP then he'll sell a metric tonne of them.

wonder if the wow and flutter is based off of abfackeln's add-ons for the aqua puss.

Aquapuss is considered kinda boutique though on TGP, especially this one, as there used to be a big box version that only had a few prototype builds (I think 3 or 4).
Whereas the EHX stuff is not considered boutique and hence "doesn't sound that great, but for the price it's great value".

I don't think anyone really believes the Dunlop Way Huge stuff is boutique, do they? The original M3005 version was a "dig thru a metric ton of DM2s to find the best one" level of sound to my ears, but the new one is just a low headroom, modern slap-back delay. I can't see them selling them for $400 in any case, not a pedal mass marketed at GC. Just like I suspect there isn't a lineup at JHS for the Panther delay at $550-600, that ship sailed when the DMMTT came out at $450 street.

Bumping this back up...does anybody know what changes they're making to the circuit to address the volume drop issue?

Its all SMD apart from the relay and BBDs
all I know is that the revision to B or version 2 or whatever was ESSENTIAL for it to be a usable product. cant beleive they went out the door in the state they were. I bought one 2nd hand, but dunlop still honoured the RMA to get it revved. I had to pay outward postage.
If you buy one factor that in, or make sure you source a rev2 /b

from what I could tell just having a look at the PCB before and after there wasnt anything visibly different, but then as I said its all the really tiny SMD bits in there....

FWIW its a very nice sounding delay in a reasonable sized package. I do feel however the DMMTT would be a nicer buy. I have an mn3005 DMM clone however and fancied something different and I collect the new way huges as they are all really nice and reasonably priced.
