It all started as a diskussion on a swedish guitarist forum where im a member (http://www.ljudbojen.com). One of the forum members took his toxic pedals - Copenhagen Muddy Drive pedal apart and... You guessed it... Joyo JF-02 on the PCB card = Ultimate drive.

If you want to check them out, just google "Toxic Pedals", i wont even bother with writing out there web adress

Oh well, at least they did a prettier design job than the last whats-his-face did with his red dot alpha drive :D

From their website:
WHERE ARE TOXICPEDALS MADE?
All Toxicpedals are designed and mainly assembled in Denmark & Sweden. Most electronic parts are produced in Asia. We test each and every pedal by hand before putting them in box for shipping to you. We also give everypedal our approvment signature. See under your pedal.
I love the reference to Asia, plopped in so it absolves them of being dishonest.

Has a pedal brand ever been so aptly named?

It'd be funny if Ken inspired these guys. It'd be even funnier if Ken WAS these guys.

Thanks, Ken :thumbsup

They're not saying that the pedal pcb and assembly are done in Asia, just the electronic parts, like on every pedal around the world... Or there's an seminconductor manufacturing facility on Denmark and Sweden?

You can see that one of them has the batter snap on the outside whereas the other has the battery snap inside.

That must be the "assembly" part.

I got a Joyo Ultimate drive for 30 USD : did FB Alpha Drive mods:
and I must say : It´s a great mild OD/Boost with a Strat and a BFDR amp:
so it´s not to my suprice that all these "boutiqe-bulders" keeps
pooping up with this pedal as their " super duper fantasic OD".... :D
Looks like Ken started a world wide movement ...and now we have it
right here in little Sweden to.. :D
Never heard of Toxic pedals though ?? and "muddy drive" : please.....

cheers m

And acctually the 2 tantal caps are stock..see my v2 board as a reference:
I changed 1 electro cap to 0.1 uF (right side) and a resistor (upper left)
the rest is stock.
And again: perhaps Joyo stole Toxixs "design" as they did with ken freekish blues :D
