Hey selling this so I took some shots of guts. I realize I need to get the output jack and the switch so stay tuned for those :-)

Looks like an Orange Squeezer based circuit.

Nice shots. Do you know what the two 3-pin (transistors probably) TO-92's are on the board? I see one as 2N5457, but can't really see the other. I see the IC is 4558. Also do you know what that white-ish thing is next to the op amp? It kind of looks like a cap, but not sure.

2 (probably) JFETs, 1 diode, op-amp. That's pretty quick spotting.

1) yes both Jfets are 2n5457's.
2) The white thing is a capacitor 560p
3) all al electro caps are 4.7u
4) greenie's are .1uf

I might not have time t take apart again and photo the switch and input but should be obvious

Input control looks like a voltage divider on the input of the circuit with a treble bleed cap across lug 3 and 2. Rest looks pretty straight forward.

I have the SMD version on the bench right now. If someone wants gut shots of that one, just let me know (it looks almost the same as what has been posted here).

Errr.. Thanks... LOL Its in my office I will pull it apart on Monday. Please post what shots you want. I will try to pull a complete parts list as well...

just a question from the pics have you modded this compressor or did the two resistors joined standing up come like that from the factory. Never seen a factory put them out like that. Although anything is possible. heres a interesting link on it http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/squishy.shtml

Hey got this on ebay used so it came to me that way... I just put it back up on ebay. Its a pretty transparent compressor. I got the Pigtronix Philosophers tone Gold. this is a bit heavier but the blend knob and tone feature make it more versatile. THe grit is usable with mod effects on its own its a bit fizzy. Should I take down the mr squishy from ebay and keep it!?!?!?

hey if it can be cloned you can have your cake and eat it too. just make a vero board version of it and sell the original once your clone is up and running. Thats what i would do personally.

More pics would be good, specially round the greenies. The trace routing is a bit goofy so it's hard to make guesstimates.

I took some more pictures and will try to post later but here are my notes from the board:

Image

There were 1 or 2 that the color bands were really hard to read and the one cap un-noted on the bottom right was unreadable..

I traced it out. Few differences, but nothing major. I'll draw it up in a bit.

Not much is different besides the compression control. Cap on gain pot is unverified, it's prolly 220p.

fantastic job phibes i take my hat of to you. What program do you use to create your schematics they look great. Thanks in advance :thumbsup

Good ol free Express Schematic. I modify a lot of the symbols to be easier on the eyes. I hate it when schematics are a mind fuck to look at with these bad eyes. Vector PDF ensures easy printing across all printers and computers. My widescreen monitor barks at a lot image files if the resolution isn't set right.

That PCB gave me a headache. Very very 2 layer autoroute and every possible connection was made and routed through the board. I can understand that when using board mounted parts but don't see the point when everything is external, if your gonna run a wire, why not just run it where it's gotta go.

This one at least has a bit more control than the orange squeezer i'd build this before the squeezer bit more versatile.

Hi I build but no change for sound with squish/bias. OS have 2.4k feed to 10k gnd. toadwork seem like to many resistance. 6.2k feed to 10k with 22k strap make pot ~6.8 at max and 20k again parallel. even set to maximum resistance it seem still so much high over original os bias. I try change 6.2k with 2.4 original but no change. also so much bass lost with this. if you have build can you post reply so I can try to make correct?
