Umble Vero
Hi all, new to forum so thought I should check before posting.
I built the Umble project from ROG on a Vero over the weekend (verified working) and have put together a Vero diagram using DIY layout creator.
I haven't seen any Vero versions around for this project and decided to knock one up myself.
My question is whether it's okay to post the diagram here? Would anyone be interested in building it?
Do I need to get permission from anyone, design of Vero is my own work based on the ROG schematic.
Cheers!

Here is the PDF file.
Q 1-4 are J201 N-Channel JFET's.
VR 1-4 are 100k Trimpots.

Hmmm...
Maybe I should mention that the four trimpots should be adjusted so that there is 4.5v coming out of each one leading to the Drain on each FET.
As well as a 47p cap across VOL2-3.

Knowing what t I know now, I wished I found this post first.
I have built two circuits from a vero posted at another site and with both experience all kinds of issues when rotating pots.
The whole circuit acts more like a radio with static and shrieking, and lots of fuzziness, the bad kind that sounds like your speakers are blown.
I believe there is an issue with some or all the pots feeding into grounds and vice versa (per that layout).
Be interested to see how this one fairs.

Thanks for this vero layout. Built it - sounds great. Lots of good thick gain. Question - I forgot the 47p across the volume lugs as noted ( even after pete reminded me on another forum ). It sounds fine to me as is - do you know what effect the 47p would have on the circuit if added?

You would get a bit more treble. Try it, it's worth it - and you can cut it out in a second, if you don't like the result.

Does anyone have a smaller vero layout for a 1590B enclosure (= 20/21 holes max.)?

Hmmm....I may put that 42p on a switch then. It's definitely a bit on the dark side in lower gain settings. But in higher gain settings, I really wouldn't want any more high end ( single coil player mostly ). Be nice to switch it on in lower gain and off for the higher gain ( where I usually keep it ). I find that the mid and treble controls are really pretty subtle in what they do compared to most 3 band tone controls. No complaints though - I like the tone circuit here - it's different in a good way.
Thanks Roseblood

Vol 3 seems wrongly marked, The vol2 marked on layout should be vol3 as per schematic and the 1.5K connected to 2.2nF should be 15k as per schematic. Am I wrong?
Built this. Sounds great. Thanks for the layout. Please change the markings of vol3 &2 and the 1.5k will be 15k.
