Hey looks like a nice Germanium boost. Has anyone had the Flickinger Rude box open? Would love to see the Vero he did of this. Sounds like the booster I've been looking for. Anyt thoughts or Pics!??!

this was the only pic I could find... probably a Ge NPN boost woudl love values if anyone has it..

Thanks Adam

I would love to get a schematic for this one! I just heard it and it sounds great. I don't know anything about any schematics, but I can tell you that it uses a Mosfet drive and not a germanium. Here is the official features if anyone can make any use of it:

True-bypass switching with heavy-duty 3PDT push button switch and LED
Metal film resistors for low noise operation
Quality Switchcraft 1/4" jacks
9v AC adapter jack with reverse polarity protection
No Op-Amp chips, uses a MOSFET transistor for more musical gain.

Moved because there is a photo of the board. It definitely looks "boutique".

I'm gonna guess some kind of SHO-like circuit. Based on the parts count and what appears to be a zener diode, that seems like a reasonable guess. Looks like maybe the gate biasing resistors are not 10M or maybe they are out of view.

I can't believe they would "show off" that rough-cut vero board on their site. :slap:

So in layman terms, what does that mean? Are there any circuits out there that are built somewhat like this one?

How much different could it sound from any other [ of which there are a few ] single device
Mosfet boosts ? most things sound better with good [ loud ] amps & gtrs

Have you tried the orman or sho boosts ? they're good beginner projects with low parts count
[to me, this thread almost comes off as a shill ]

Yes there are. SHO stands for Super Hard On. Do a search on SHO and it and it's many variants will be revealed.
After looking on the web site it is a MOSFET booster, good call culturejam.
