Yes - I used a cheap white plastic pc mount tube socket (purchased from http://www.tubesandmore.com).
Good luck with the build

The diodes are shown with a + to denote the cathode (the end with the band)Hi bajaman, are the diodes (1N4007 and 1N4148) reversed? Should'nt the side with the band be the cathode? In the layout it shows one thing while on the build pics it show a different orientation.
Also on the schematic it does'nt show the 1N4148's
Got it! Thanks for the reply!bajaman wrote:The diodes are shown with a + to denote the cathode (the end with the band)Hi bajaman, are the diodes (1N4007 and 1N4148) reversed? My apologies for not drawing the 1N4148's on the schematic - they are connected to the non inverting input of the first op amp buffer stage and the positive and negative supply rails - they are only there as a protection measure and can be left out with no effect to the normal function of the circuit. I will update the schematic in the near future.

Greetings Bajaman.....very interesting project!Bajaman wrote: I may be able to supply board kits on request, but have not worked out prices as yet, because this is a very new project.
The Tube Driver is only one small part of how David Gilmour gets his sound(s)Hi Bajaman,
Thanks for the great project!
Can you explain me the sound difference between "Baja BK Butler Tube Driver" and "BAJA Real Tube Drive"?, I'm looking for a Gilmour's sound.
Thanks and sorry for my English....
Hey, Bajaman, I've said it before but what a great circuit. The 12AT7 did work, but was still a bit too much.bajaman wrote:Hi schemripper
You could try decreasing the 2 x 47k plate load resistors - try 22k for example when using the lower plate impedance 12 AU7 type tubes - A 12AT7 might work okay in here too.![]()

Bajaman will probably give you some help
I built myself one of this pedal and I had some sound quality problems at the beginning of tests, but it was due due to miss wiring from me.
So I would recommand that you check again all connexions, components and soldering.
I personnally use a 4558 as preamp and a 12av7 (less gain than 12ax7, it sounds good also with the 12ax7 but a bit too harsh for my taste), i just miss some bass when connected to a strat and i intend to increase some link capacitors.
hope it could help
