My new ambulance partner knowing I dig electronic gifted to me some computer and DVD crap. I've spend all afternoon taking this things apart and I end up with 12 low voltage electric motors, and other crap like springs, rack and other shit I could use to build inductor winder.
There is not much info about building such things, but enough to do it, (ten parts)
What I would love to have is a cheaper and wider source for inductor kits and wire than here or here. Any tips and direction? I don't want to spend to much specially now when I'm starting (I expect many fuck ups before I'll do working one)
re: the small bear price: that doesn't seem too expensive
Other than that, for cheaper sources, maybe look for inductors with suitable-looking cores that you can disassemble and rewind? I found some surplus (more recent issue) black Dunlop ones not too long ago which weren't too expensive but I'm not sure if they can be taken apart easily (might be epoxied) compared to some of the "Halo" style ones.
If you don't have an inductance meter, there is a way to measure the inductors using the pc sound card and a very simple test circuit.
Dzięki my friend That was surprising. I should search for parts more often in our country
I don't have any inductor measurement device, I was going to get THIS soon, but I would love to know more about that sound card jig
I have this UT70A multimeter and happy, does all I need, wider ranges than from peakelec.co.uk
How accurate have you found the inductance readings? Do they measure the standard wah inductors at something close to 500mH? I ask because I've been looking into an inductance meter and that one looks pretty good.

It reads ok to me, yes the inductors for wah is approx 500mH, I have measured wah and other inductors, it seems fine to me, also capacitance meter is good for filter circuits. Here is the manual with tech specs http://gsmserver.com/content_file/produ ... /UT70A.PDF

Hi Sinner,
Wind a tiny bobbin does not always require complex stuff. See this image:
All you may need is a digital counter, but if you know the gear ratio of a manual drill you plan to use, is easy count the number of turns of the main wheel.
