Maybe it's the placebo effect. JHS use not most badly capacitors. Сlip diodes should affect more.

To be honest, I find these clueless "up-graders" really hilarious. I saw one idiot on a "hi-fi" forum who spent $900 on 12 "audio grade" capacitors and complained that the "sound" of his amplifier was now "too clinical" and the midrange was "too recessed". Translating from mojo waffle, it sounds like he fitted the wrong value capacitors in the RIAA stage of the amplifier and screwed the response! The funniest thing of all was that the amplifier was an old Sugden (a "wonderful" British amplifier) that cost just £45 when it was new!Dirk_Hendrik wrote:Mic,
Read the whole thread. You'll notice the guys don't listen at all and just ramble on about their "improvements". It's changing components for the sake of changing them but without any goal of what to achieve.
