Another good bass amp. This one from the early 90's. Before the WT preamp designed by Russ Allee of Acoutic and A.M.P. fame.

This preamp is the James Demeter preamp..notice the compressor!!!

I've just completed the poweramp section (same configuration as the Thunderfunk 750A, Eden WD-500, etc.) so I guess this could be done just as easily. Given the commonality of this board in many amps, perhaps a group purchase on a bunch of board might be in order? I would happily represent European posting on that basis.

Just need to confirm that Eden didn't change the basics of the board much from the design I have just been working from, plus it might be a good idea to pool our respective resources to iron out the bugs inherent to this poweramp....specifically the resistors getting too hot and burning the output transistors or vice-versa. It seems somewhat shoddy that these parts seem so susceptible to thermal runaway. I may be wrong as usual though. :|

Oooooh. Two of the fuckers here!
Image

I want that preamp board. It looks like the centre frequencies for the stacked gyrators are preset at two switched values on the VT.40 as opposed to being variable like on the WT-500/800 and TF 750A et al, so bringing out that valve input stage and pushing the fully adjustable EQ section back in looks preferable.

So what're we doing here? Fixing this to get it out of the door or copying the crying fuck out of it? :blackeye

SLOW DOWN!!!!!!![/b][/i][/u]

:applause:

Concentrate on the thunderfunk. :) No tubes or any other crap...until later. :)

The VT.40 is a passive Fender tonestack. With the switches changing some caps in and out.

I have schematics for SWR SM900 and 500 and Eden WT400/800 amps....

I guess, if I feel like a nice guy and not a shmuck, that I could post them......

But it is a shmucky kinda Sunday...

Poiple resistors, eh? Noice.
Stop being a dildo and make with the schematics! :horsey:

Actually, no rush because my priority is the Thunderfucker of course. Need to sort out the PSU side of things since this power amp is so ubiquitous and well, potato-ish.
Personally, I think Eden has far better arrangement for heat management than Thunderfunk. Dave just seems to talk his amps up whereas Eden actually have the balls to back it up. IMO.
