Hi there! I want to ask you if someone knows about an easy to build single tube clean preamp (the preamp section of a Fender Twin would be great). I need a "for-dummies" project 'cos this would be the fist time I'm building something that uses high voltages, so it's important for me the instructions about wiring the power transformer in the right way.
It's not so important for me that is a FENDER TWIN, I just need something small with a good tonestack and a single tube to use instead of my Digitech 2120 preamp section.

Any suggest will be appreciated,

Thank to all!

Read A lot before you start,

build a lot of failures,

Read a lot more,,

build a few more,,

Read a lot more than before,,

When you have a bottom draw full of failures you will then start to have some success.

Fun ay ?

Hi oetzi

Try to build this pedal: http://www.dirk-hendrik.com/temp/Reusse ... ckface.pdf

Consist in the first tube stages used in almost all tube Fender amps.

The supply is done by using a wall wart adapter of 12 volts AC, rated at 1 Amp. The internal transformer you see in the diagram is another 220 /12 volts transformer but connected backwards.

There is an small amount of current demanding with the tube, so this transformer can be the smallest you can afford.

The capacitors used in this circuit must be of a least 250 volts, except the electrolytics wich are indicated what voltage rating requires.

Cheers,
Jose
