where can I find 2SC539 and 2SC828? or what is the best replacement for them, I remember neovibe mounted with 2n5088 ....

2n5088 have different pinout than 2SC828

Lot's of 2SC828 are on ebay, other option is BC183L - might be better option for lamp driver as it handles higher current

2SC539? forgetabaret... Go with BC108 ot any ordinary pinout-wise low noise alternatives

Note about the 2SC828. Datasheet says that this transistor issue had three rank marks:
Q- hfe bucket - 130/260
R - hfe bucket - 180/360
S - hfe bucket - 260/520

I have no idea what the rank in UV was, the only unit I had access to (info provided by The Rotagilla) had no rank marks

I'll try to update our website with more transistor info including Q voltages later today

BTW, I've ordered 20 boards for it, they should be here by the end of next week, so hopefully soon I'll be able to mark it as verified

I'll keep few, another few goes to B.Man and my buddy Phibes, one goes to The Rotagilla. Not sure what I'll do with the rest, perhaps an contest on facebook fanpage? :)

I got good results when I substituted a BC549C for the 2SC828 transistors, actually my Univibe build uses mostly BC series transistors and MPSA14 transistors in the LFO circuit and lamp driver circuit, although the MPSA14 transistor in the lamp driver gets a bit too hot for my liking, I'm pretty happy with the results I get.... :thumbsup

If you're wondering what gains to use, try the ones from the 250/520 Hfe bucket range, the first transistor in the pre-amp/ phase splitter stage (made up of three transistors) does need to be a high-gain low-noise type(I used a BC549C with an Hfe of 650 if my memory serves me right, the BC549C is a high-gain low-noise NPN Silicon) , Hfe 520 or 560 to 680 should work fine, the other transistors can all be medium gain ones say from about Hfe 250 to 350 or maybe Hfe 450.... :thumbsup

All BC549C I have left I'm saving for my Big Muff builds, they're freaking awesome for it. Anyway, the pinout is still problematic with my board. RG's Neovibe will take them easily

Good info about the HFE ranges, I'll try that

Cheers

Read my website http://www.turretboard.org/?p=2213
The Enclosure

At this point I have no exact enclosure dimensions, and I’m unable to draw the plans for one. This might change soon, so if you’re after exact crap, stay logged in. All I know for now is the footprint – and it’s 10″ x 7″

As an alternative I can recommend two Hammond brand cast aluminum models:

- Hammond 1550G – measures 222mm x 146mm x 55mm (8,74″ x 5,74″ x 2,16″) and it’s big enough to carry replica board without step-down transformer. Still keeps enough of free space for comfortable wiring route, as well as it’s tall enough to take pots, jacks, and switches on top of the board. It’s quite big, but this is the smallest one possible, trust me, I searched through all Hammond datasheets, and in my opinion this is the best choice. The trick is to mount the board to the enclosure lid like in original Uni-Vibe.

- Hammond 1550J is the other option. Measures 275mm x 175mm x 66mm (10,82″ x 6,89″ x 2,62″). So it’s close in footprint to past era Uni-Vibe – about the same size as the aircraft carrier. Will take our board easily with transformer and yo mama included. It’s the biggest cast alloy enclosure Hammond offers.

The choice is yours. I’ll go with 1550G in my build as I don’t think I’m brave enough to have wall powered pedal build by myself and the 1550G is still huge enough

 http://www.banzaimusic.com/100uF-40V-axial.html

UV has no 100uF caps, there is 1000uF in power supply part of the circuit

...also... pass the 2sc828 trannie idea... They're only 50mA rated. BC183L have the same pinout and holds 200mA

Lamp driver will fry your 2sc828 quite possible sooner or later

Hold on with the part collecting. Beedotman did the smaller version based on my draw, AFAIR with some modes to it.

It should be up later today

Sorry for delay guys, I'm really pretty busy at work for last few days/weeks...
Anyway... I'm planing to post smaller board with some mods (input load and bulb driver) and mojo look and even smaller board for 1590p enclosure over weekend.
Here's preview :)

great job I'll wait a (unireprotransfer) bit then to ride in my smaller size
thanks for this pearl

Here's one with 1meg resistors in input preamp section as in unit traced by Wattson FX

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Shin-E ... 2a238c9f3f

I have stored dozens of UV's but this is the first one with 1M I seen. I was sure till today that Wattson had an error in his schematic... Well he doesn't

Nicely spotted! Are there other component variations on other vibes?
